Early in 2006 I had an idea and yes it was fuelled by a very large glass of wine. Not only was I getting frustrated by the bull shit coming out of some parts the information security industry but it seemed that many others were as well. In fact it rapidly became one of those issues that when you started asking around, you suddenly found everyone you respected also felt the same. Sadly most people work for large corporations (or even for some of the BS perpetrators themselves)where it is hard for people to fight back in public. The spiral seemed to be on a trajectory upwards ….
Luckily I find myself in an enviable position. I am the founder of an early stage startup currently building its prototype. This means I can do and say as I please without having to answer to lawyers or a board.
So encouraged by others I have set up this site dedicated to fighting security bullshit. Each week there is a cartoon (drawn by Toby Mikle of TMcreations.com) with some commentary by yours truly. It’s syndicated via RSS.
When I find some time I plan to build an on-line BS Bingo game where you can select your favorite BS terms and grade companies as they pitch to you. Submit your score card and you’ll be feeding the BullBoard Top 10 (updated weekly). The higher you are the less you will sell!
